Tad Carpenter

Kansas City, Missouri

With Hanukkah just behind us and Christmas only 2 weeks away the Ballista office is brimming with holiday cheer. What better way to celebrate than with some holiday design. Today’s feature comes to us by way of Tad Carpenter is a Kansas City-based illustrator and designer. Tad shares his love for design with the world every December by producing a unique set of holiday greeting cards. Tad’s cards are a fresh take on an industry that can get a little too… glittery. This year’s lineup features a unique color palette and four fantastic illustrations. The best part about Tad’s cards: you can purchase them, and share your love for design with family and friends. You can also pick up a limited edition set of “Holiday Homies” figures.

In addition to the holiday fare, Tad also designs and illustrates children’s books, spot illustrations, and marketing campaigns. Tad has worked with many national clients, including Macy’s, Target, Atlantic Records, Simon & Schuster, Hallmark Cards, Kidrobot, Dave & Busters, and others. He has also been featured in Communication Arts, Print, How, Graphis, Grain Edit, Drawn!, Illustration Mundo, and now Ballista Magazine!

Tad is an adjunct professor in graphic design and illustration at the University of Kansas. He also operates Vahalla Studios, producer of silkscreen goods, with friend and colleague Dan Padavic. To view more of Tad’s illustration visit his website and follow him on Twitter @TadCarpenter.
