Big news — tomorrow marks the inaugural day for the FORMLAND 2011 exhibition! Opening its doors tomorrow (February 2nd) at the Messecenter Herning in Herning, Denmark, the FORMLAND exhibition runs through February 6th and is sure to feature some of top Scandinavian designers in the industries of Design, Giftware, Handicraft & Applied Art. Hailing from Horsens, Denmark and showcasing their products in Stand #5732 at the FORMLAND Trade Show: design collaborative PHUCISME!
You would never guess from their incredible gallery of products, but PHUCISME is a brand of relative youth in the design industry. Established in 2010 by co-owners Phuc Van Dang and Pia Schildknecht, PHUCISME “strives to offer a unique and creative proposition for the modern consumer and companies.” PHUCISME markets themselves as a multidisciplinary design agency/brand that specializes in curatorial work, production of art exhibitions, branding and PR consultancy, and concept development.
According to the PHUCISME website, their firm works with the mantra of “new person | new idea | new collaboration”. Most importantly, however, is the company’s adherence to function as the driving design force in each of their fantastic products and services. While PHUCISME assumes a graphic and edgy style (as shown in the gallery below), they have successfully merged commercial pragmatism with artistic innovation.
In keeping with the artistic vision of its cofounders, PHUCISME has since aggregated the artistic talents of Akira Nishitake, Ricardo Cavolo, and Mikuni of Like Atmosphere. This diversity of artists has contributed to their fantastic body of work, which ranges anywhere from minimalist kitchenware to quite intricate screenprints — they have no themed “style”, which allows the brand to function in a variety of industries and appeal to an even wider variety of forward-thinking clients.
