Nick Iluzada

Baltimore, Maryland

Fresh on the heels of our Sam Bosma feature, Ballista Magazine is proud to showcase yet another young talent from the ranks of the Maryland Institute College of Art: Nick Iluzada!

Nick is a currently a senior at MIC/A and is majoring in illustration, as evidenced by his fantastic portfolio of work in the gallery below.  His work has a handcrafted, yet polished aesthetic that has the ability to span a variety of mediums and themes.  One of our favorite collections of work is his SpaceCase collection, which feature brilliant color theory and a wealth of embedded narrative (even though the narrative is undefined).  His work has garnered quite a bit of praise from initiatives other than Ballista as well — Nick’s work was also awarded a Silver Medal from the Society of Illustrators (one of the only students to ever win this prestigious award) and was awarded the Weinstein Foundation Scholarship in SINY’s annual student competition.

To see more of Nick’s impressive illustration portfolio, please visit his website, blog, and/or Flickr pages!  As a reminder, Ballista Magazine takes DAILY submissions from young designers and this Feature came by way of a personal contact from Nick himself!  In keeping with our mission, we are more than happy (even ecstatic, at times!) to showcase young designers that have the confidence and initiative to reach out to us.  Please feel free to contact us if you or someone you know has what it takes to be featured!
