Mark Pernice is a graphic designer and illustrator from Brooklyn, New York that runs a fantastic design studio that goes by the name Matic. A New Yorker from birth and a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, Mr. Pernice has compiled a client list that includes the New York Times, Urban Outfitters, Pentagram, Virgin Mobile, the Boston Globe, and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Mark is currently working as a full-time freelancer but also has experience under design juggernauts Stefan Sagmeister and Paula Scher in recent years.
Mark’s work has been widely publicized and awarded, including two 2011 FPO Awards, Make Magazine 10 Best of 2010, a HOW Magazine Outstanding Achievement award, a 2009 AIGA PDA award and a Print Magazine Regional Design Annual award. His work spans a broad range of concepts and media, but a majority of his work resides in the illustration and branding/identity sectors. Our personal favorite would be his identity work for Beard Bath, a company devoted to beard care products (shampoos, etc.). Mark’s proposed collateral is a minimal and modern interpretation of the brand and let’s be honest…we could all use a little beard care.
If you find the image gallery is lacking, we agree…and it was deliberate. By only providing you with a few of his featured works, you basically are OBLIGATED to visit Mark’s website and/or Twitter feed to see more of his work. You’re welcome.
