Jared Andrew Schorr is an unbelievable design talent whose paper craft illustrations are simply awe inspiring. He has created illustrations for clients such as Good, Wired, Bust, The New York Times and The Los Angles Times.
From what we can gather online, Jared begins each illustration with a hand drawing. He then meticulously cuts all of the elements in the drawing with exacting precision from colored stock. These individual pieces are combined and arranged to form the final composition. When viewing Jared’s work it is difficult to imagine the time and skill needed to craft each piece.
The Print Magazine blog imprint originally brought Jared Andrew Schorr to our attention, and they summed up his work so perfectly that we have to include their description here:
“There are illustrators. And then there are illustrators–the dripping with personality, oozing with expression, can’t-peel-your-eyes-away-from-the-page storytelling kind. Speaking of the latter, Southern California-based ink-to-paper maker, Jared Andrew Schorr, is a definite cut above the rest. From monsters to retro radios, hotdog-shaped letters to space cadets, Schorr is a wizard paper crafter – Xacto-knifing his witty drawings to infinite precision.” (via imprint)
Jared Andrew Schorr’s online portfolio is a joy to view. (We could have easily included more images in our preview gallery below, but we want to encourage you to visit his portfolio.) You can also find this talented designer on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
